Mar Vista: ‘Heart of the Westside’

Most of the homes in Mar Vista were built immediately after WWII, similar to Culver City. Instead of relocating when it was time to move up in the real estate market, many residents have remodeled their homes into architectural gems.

Considered by many as the “Heart of the Westside.”

Bill Rosendahl, a resident of Mar Vista, was elected to the L.A. City Council in 2005 on the “slow growth” platform.

Mar Vista locals consider themselves less Westside-trendy and are rooted in family traditions.  The schools are LAUSD and,  similar to Westcheter, community involvement is responsible for high-scoring public schools.
